Hypersensitivity to high pitch

A number of people on the spectrum are hypersensitive to high-frequency sounds above the normal hearing threshold. Temple Grandin reported ‘Some of the sounds that are most disturbing to autistic children are the high-pitched, shrill noises made by electrical drills, blenders, saws, and vacuum cleaners’.
We may add the sound of tl-lamps. (See recommendation 110.)
